Fly Fishing Breaks for the complete novice or experienced angler can be arranged taking you to the beautiful 400 acre Eyebrook Reservoir or 5000 acre Rutland Water. Full kit can be provided along with a packed lunch. Our guide has many years experience and enjoys passing on his knowledge to the complete novice and seeing the delight on their faces when they hook into their first trout. Both waters are stocked on a regular basis and contain many specimen fish to over 10lb.
Bird watching in East Leicestershire and Rutland is excellent at any time of the year. ospreys are summer visitors to both Eyebrook and Rutland Water and breed at both locations,red kites and buzzards are now quite common in the area. Summer evenings Hobbies can be seen hawking over the Eyebrook. Spring and Autumn bring many migrant species to Eyebrook and Rutland Water. Guided tours can be arranged.
Walking is very popular in the area and the walk from the Bewicke Arms to castle hill to see the motte and bailey was printed in the Times newspapers best top twenty walks in England.
There are three walks round the village depending on how far you wish to go, pulling the beautiful scenery of East Leicestershire whilst have refreshment at the Bewicke Team Room for afternoon tea.
Cycling is very popular in this area, the Bewicke Tea Room is a regular watering hole. There is something for everyone in the area whether you choose mountain biking or road biking and we would be only too willing to offer advice on various cycling routes. Cycle hire is available from Rutland Water.
